Behind the Mission

Hello, I'm Genevieve Joseph-Williams, the founder of SEND@Heart.  I am a mother and an experienced educator, I understand the challenges you face in supporting your child's unique needs. I am a passionate advocate for inclusive education and the well-being of both the parents of and children with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). 

My Journey and Experience

With over 35 years in education—as a Class Teacher, SENCO, Assistant Head Teacher, Specialist Lead Teacher in SEND and Local Authority Inclusion Team Officer—I've dedicated my career to advocating for children with special educational needs.


Career highlights include: 

Extensive Experience:

  • Over 35 years in education
  • Across different London Boroughs
  • Teaching and managing provision for SEND
  • Training and mentoring staff and new Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs)
  • Specialist Leader of Education in SEND (SLE) recognised for excellence
  • Writing, amending and co-producing Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) as an officer on the Inclusion and Monitoring team at the Local Authority

Collaborative Advocacy:

  • Collaborating with schools and helping to implement the right support strategies.
  • Support in liaison with key professionals, e.g. Educational Psychologists, ensuring timely assessments and appropriate interventions
